First time here. I was expecting more. I ordered the pork souvlaki gyro. Rather than have thinly sliced pieces of beef or lamb, the gyro was filled with chunks of skewered pork. The pork had good flavor. The gyro was a bit challenging to eat since the pork was in chunks rather than slices. (To the owners or management: Perhaps you could each chunk in half or more so that the meat is more evenly distributed throughout the gyro). My daughter ordered the beef gyro. So nice to have a place with Greek gyros and similar. They just opened recently and have been good the first two times we went. They must have had something going wrong in the kitchen yesterday. The gyro was made wrong the first time and then the second time was very thick pieces of meat and almost no onions or tomatoes. The side Greek salad had no lettuce. It was really disappointing.

This place has been open for just a few months and from the start they've been operating like experienced old hands. It's clear the operators of this franchise are professionals who know their business. From the moment you get there, you can see that the cooks and front staff have been well trained to provide you with good service and good food. It's a great new option for lunch or a quick dinner in Novato.

I saw Nick the Greek coming for a long time. I saw the "Opening Soon" signs and I was excited but confused "Nick the Creek?" For weeks, I saw the sign thinking it was "Nick the Creek." Made no sense. The second I realized it was "Nick the Greek" my brain clicked. "Ohhhh..." :P The opening of a new restaurant is very exciting in Novato because there's not that much going on here. Decent if pricey greekish fast food. Having been to a lot of really expensive gyro joints while on the east coast, I had hopes for this place. Unfortunately it's been infected by the fast casual bug and tries to be more than it is, most notably by the price. The service is fine. The food is decent. The price means I won't be a regular.

I had the gyro chicken bowl with no rice. I used to like this place because you could get healthy meals, but today it was next to disgusting. The chicken was overcooked and had gristle. I was in a hurry and didn't want to make a fuss, so I just ate around the chicken. It was basically a bowl of expensive lettuce. I mentioned it to the person at the counter afterward because it occurred to me that it could have been leftover chicken and maybe a health issue. If I could give it lower than 1 star I would have. The salad that came with my gyro plate was smelling rotten, so clearly they don't use fresh ingredients but to use veggies that smell rotten is just negligence. I called back to complain and the person on the phone was indifferent. So in short rotten food and bad customer service.
