Not impressed at all. I would describe it as glorified fast food. I'm rounding up to 2 stars to be generous. I would give it 1.5 stars if that was available. The gyro meat (chicken) tastes like food scraps. Meat that doesn't pass the quality of better restaurants. It's a little better than the cheapest fast food restaurants but not by much. The rice is decent quality but the flavors are off for my liking. The prices seem high for the quality too. I can think of several higher end sit down restaurants that offer ... read more
I've been here 3 times and ordered out twice both times forgot my sauce on the side when it says on the side and this time the fries were cold and tasted like they've been sitting for hours. Very disappointing.
I'm not understanding all of these 5 star reviews... this place isn't bad but it definitely isn't even close to hitting perfection. This establishment is Americanized Greek food... adding fries inside the gyro, mustard spread that really is pure mayo with mustard flavor... yea it's safe to say this is a more decadent version of a true gyro. I ordered the chicken gyro without the mayo mustard and added tzatziki. The chicken was dry and the taste was basic. Super disappointed. Definitely won't be back.
The pita is beautiful however, the onions are poorly chopped and the past two or three I find a huge pocket of red onion piled at the bottom,I don't get it! I love onions but this isn't ok,whoever's putting this togethe obviously doesn't eat the food. The fries are way too salty, my lips and tongue felt pickled the next morning. This can't be the norm,I just can't endure the salt bomb again.
My friend and I were there Friday afternoon, excited to try a new place. We were underwhelmed, won't be back. Had the chicken platter and soup, not much flavor, dried out chicken, sadly disappointing.
QIf this had been my 1st visit, I would not come back. I walked in today, Wed, 11/2/22, about 2:50pm and placed an order to go for a beef/lamb gyro and a beef/lamb plate. There was no one ahead of me so I was able to walk right up to the register to order. The order came out really quickly, within 5 min. Maybe I should have been suspicious. Not happy with my $30 plus purchase... beef/lamb gyro: fries were dried out hard, no cucumbers, 1 tomato, meat was a bit dried, wrapped in their paper that had grease stains on it. ... read more
After devouring the beef/lamb gyros, I was excited to try other menu offerings. The falafel gyro is pretty good but the falafel could use more flavor since it's the star of the dish. The gyro salad with chicken is a disappointment. I was asked if I wanted skewers or chicken "cut up" and maybe I should have gone with skewers but I don't like to work to eat my salad. The presentation of the "cut up" chicken was not pleasing. It just looks like someone dumped a bunch of small chicken pieces in a bowl and surrounded it with ... read more
I totally get that the hype is huge because every person in Novato is sick and tired of eating bar food, but that does not make this a 5 star restaurant. The gyro is ok. The lamb/beef combo tasted like Taco Bell meat. The chicken kabob was very dry and the hummus was no better than grocery store hummus. Lastly, check out their nutrition info online. Your heads will spin. The staff is friendly and fairly efficient which is why I gave it 2 stars Want good Greek food? kababbq in San Rafael is MUCH BETTER
Marginal, Non authentic food. Dirty dining room. Poorly trained staff. Not going back
