Great food, great customer service, and very happy it's here! The pork belly is so good! I'm not usually a fan of onions, but it really brings together all of the flavors of a gyro... and adds a bit of crunch. So keep the onions! I love that there are fries in the gyro! One time I got a gyro bowl and there was a bit too much of the yogurt... but it was still very good! It can get a bit crowded and busy so there's a bit of a mess left at tables, but it's understandable. Would be nice if people picked up after themselves.... read more
Delicious food! It's nice to finally have something different in Novato. I've been here about 4 times now and it keeps getting better!
Don't let the long lines scare you - the lines are long because the food is great and reasonably priced. The workers here know how to pump out the orders fast. The lamb is delicious, the fries perfectly done, the hummus and pita are wonderful. Trust me - the line was out the door and in 12 minutes I was walking back to my car with my food. Great location - plenty of parking - go welcome them to the neighborhood!
ravel treat Tuesday - Folks in the north San Francisco Bay don't have to travel far for today's treat. This past weekend we ventured to the Vintage Oaks in Shopping Center in Novato to check out a new eatery, Nick the Greek. I love Greek food when I'm able to find it, and this is a good one!. I had the Beef and Lamb Gyro with a side of Fries. I'm particular about my Gyros - having had them all over the world (not yet in Greece, however). At the risk of being boastful, I even make my own and they're darn good. This was... read more
I was skeptical, especially after enjoying souvlaki and gyros in Greece recently, however, for a "fast casual" dining format, Nick's really nailed it. The food tastes authentic (including chicken gyros with the mild mustard sauce that's popular in Athens), and with solid Greek fries. More to try, but keep it up Nick!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Finally an excellent and authentic Greek food in Novato. The pita bread is to "Die for". The amount of meat is generous. Spoke to the owner, very friendly and welcoming. The fries are (OMG - just delicious). You want authentic Greek food, come here at Nick the Greek. I know I will be eating at least 2-3 times a month. Thank you guys and gals for all of your hard work in making such a delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. Duraid Altai (From Iraq)
Gyros salad was disappointing. Not enough veggies, just arugula and spinach in a sickly sweet dressing. Definitely doesn't taste greek. Tastes like French dressing. Not getting gyros salad again! I was expecting a Greek salad with gyros on top not just a few greens in a sugary sauce. Salad was def overpriced. Rest of fam got the gyros in a pita with fries and those were good.
Business response:
Thanks for the feedback Sher and sorry you were disappointed with the salad. We will work harder to make it better. Hope you give us another shot!
Great food, great and consistent concept. I get their usual new location opening invitations. I try to go if I am available and also stop by again later to check again.
I was really happy with the beef and lamb gyro it was really good. The meat was tender and not too salty. I would definitely go back to try the other options.
