I don't have Greek pretty often, but I know most of the cuisine is very vibrant and fresh. My review is based upon a UberEats order, however, I feel as if the preparation of the order was poor. I ordered a gyro with chicken and fries and sauce on the side. The pita was greasy as the wrapper could not absorb the oil. The oil soaked it's way through several napkins. Chicken gyro pita was really good. It was flavorful and the pita itself was delicious. I was impressed with the lamb/beef gyro I ordered previously as well!
Nick the Greek is a chain that I've never heard of. But I was looking for something close, quick, and different than a lot of the bar food offered in the area. We got Chicken Gyro Plate - The chicken was well seasoned but a little dry. The portion of chicken was small. But there was enough of the other parts of the meal to make it filling. Have ordered from Nick the Greek for team lunches. The location is convenient, always clean, and typically you don't have a long wait. The food is decent - not fantastic Greek food, but it's ok. The gyro meat is super thinly sliced and just a bit more processed tasting than many of the other greek restaurants I go to, and the tsitsiki sauce tastes bulk bought. Not your average Greek place, the food was great on top of the service as well. Tried the pork belly gyro and that was definitely something different than I've had before. The meat was really good along with all the seasoning and dressing in the gyro. The Greek fries were good especially if you love garlic! Staff was friendly as well.
Best service in downtown San Diego! The food is delicious and came out super quick. It's a small restaurant but very clean and conveniently located. Highly recommend!!

This place is awesome. If you live downtown and want a reliable, cheap, tasty bite this is the one. The beers are always $5 (where else can you find that) and the service is great. I am never disappointed when stopping by Nick the Greek!
My favorite Greek food is chicken souvlaki because I grew up eating it at Pita Pit in Bowling Green, Ohio. Totally authentic of course but it actually was good. Fast forward time and I'm here with my pals at Nick the Greek today, where they also have chicken souvlaki.
