Nick the Greek is located right next to Petco Park on J street serving up some up the best Gyros in the Downtown area with $5 dollar draft beers all day long! When I saw this place as a hot and new business on my Yelp feed I just knew I had to come over and see what all they hype was! Great first impression! Had a bowl w/chicken, good portion solid Greek food influence, big portion and great value. Had Greek yogurt with honey and Baklava. Wow!! Friendly staff, food was delivered on our table hot and plenty of sauce and quickly!
One of my favorite memories of Paris is going to Saint Michel and picking up a Sandwich Grec or doner sandwich, depending on if you're Greek or Turkish... delicious tender gyro meat in a piping hot pita with garlicky white sauce, fries and veggies. When I saw Nick the Greek was opening up I figured I'd get a quick fix. Great location next to Petco, clean, healthy & tasty Greek items to choose. Had the Greek bowl (spinach & arugula) with Carved Chicken & Tzatziki.
Outstanding food and service. Place was clean and staff was awesome. Wanted to get a bit to eat before going to the Padres game. Place was a definite good find.
Yummy chicken gyro bowl. Very flavorful and big portion. Authentic greek food. They need to give more greens and tomatoes into the bowl. Some of the rice was mushy.
Definitely stop here pre or post Padres game (or anytime you're in the area!). Portion sizes are huge and feta is included which isn't common. I've had the chicken bowl and my boyfriend had the beef lamb gyro fries. Both were amazing. Oh and $5 draft beers! Also the staff and everyone here is so kind and helpful.
Absolutely love this place - so excited to have it in the neighborhood! Overall great experience and the food is seriously so so good.
