We were walking around the shopping center and saw this location. Since it was President's day and everywhere else was so busy we walked around to find a place to have lunch where it wasn't too busy and saw this spot. The place is nicely done and contemporary. The staff was so nice and welcoming! Definitely 5 stars for that! Food was delish too!
This place will be in my top 3 quick go to meals to have from now on! It's super clean eating and the portions are huge! I got the beef and lamb gyro plate and it was filled to the top of the box, almost busting out! It was loaded with meat, and I subbed the rice for the Greek salad that consisted of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta cheese, and olives. So glad to have Nick the Greek in Castro Valley, finally. Now we have more options. Too many Asian restaurants that are not up to par. We have BBQ, sandwich shops, and if course many junkie fast food. Unfortunately, Castro Valley has always had too many restaurants, but Nick the Greek is welcome Delicious food, always fresh and the employees are friendly. I make it my go to place for lunch.
Ordered in dinner from Nick the Greek tonight and have zero regrets. The gryo, humus and tzatziki sauce were all really good. The favor on the Greek fries was good, wish they were a bit crispier. The baklava was amazing!
2nd time trying Nick! First one was in Daly City and second was in Castro Valley, close to our place. I love gyro and so does my husband. I actually like Mediterranean food and that's why I was so glad that when I saw Nick at the Castro Valley location, I was so excited and happy. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of what we ordered though. Next time, I'll make sure I do lol I'm giving them 4 stars. I like this place a lot. I am upset they stopped selling falafel's. I like the gyro bowl & the Greek salad with a side of chicken.
One of the things I really love about this specific Nick the Greek location is how well run this place is as they bring FAST back to fast food. Fast food used to be fast, and reasonably priced, now it is typically slower than restaurants, short staffed, and expensive. I can order food through their app at the other end of the Castro Valley Village and by the time I get there and park it is ready. I love falafels and my go-to place is an hour away. Nick the Greek has been hyped up to me for years, everyone saying that it's the best place to eat at, so I decided to try it myself today. Mediocre to say the least. I like that they have a kiosk to order so no need to go to a cashier, but damn why didn't anyone tell me how EXPENSIVE this place is???
