My first trip to this restaurant. Parking at lunch time is terrible, but not their fault. However the food was fantastic. I had the beef/lamb gyro and chicken skewers. The gyro was far better than the chicken but both were good. I wish I had some photos but I ate it too fast.

My Greek friend recommended this restaurant. She said she eats at the location in Union City often, but the location in Castro Valley just opened up and we both live closer to this location. The restaurant is brand new, super clean and has super friendly staff. They were patient while we were ordering because I wanted to get their recommendations and try a variety of items on the menu. We sat outside because the weather was very warm. We enjoyed the food very much. I just ate there and will be back tomorrow!

My husband and I tried this location and their food is great and delicious! Orders are always correct and handled with care. Will definitely be coming back. I'm so happy to have Greek food, especially gyros close to where I live.

Finally a decent option for food in Castro valley. Since moving from SJ I so desperately missed all the food options. Nick the Greek is a healthy, fast, delicious option for the nights we don't feel like cooking. They have many protein options and served in a variety of ways. I personally get the Greek salad with gyro meat. They have chicken and beef/lamb gyro meat. I recently had the chicken souvlaki plate and it was as delicious as I remember. I've been waiting for this location to open. It was worth the wait. We stopped in yesterday to grab some take out for dinner. Ordering at the counter was easy and the employee helping us was friendly. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and everything was packaged nicely. We came home with one plate (beef/lamb, pita, rice, and side salad) and a falafel bowl. Everything was great. The food was fresh, well seasoned and tasted great. Someone we knew had been to the Union City Nick The Greek restaurant and was really excited that one was opening in Castro Valley. So I made a point to check it out. I ordered a combo lamb/beef giro w/ drink and a side salad to eat there. I hate having the first experience be a takeout order because it never does the food justice. 5 minutes later the food came out and I started digging in. Ordered 2 Gyro Plates & very disappointed with the chicken gyro plate. The chicken was extremely dry & jerky like. The basmati rice was ok & the highlight to this plate was the fresh & flavorful salad consisting of blue cheese, tomato, & olives. The Beef & Lamb plate was a lot better. Very rude female cashier! Asked her three times "Can I also order some yogurt sauce?", and she said the gyro comes with mustard sauce. (Which I knew) Then I looked down and saw a cooler with two types of yogurt sauce and explained that I'd like one of those. Bad attitude and seemed like she was not listening. Chose not to eat there as wouldn't trust them with my food with that kind of attitude.
