The facility in Hayward is way better. We tried this one today. Way too much sauce. We asked for two chicken gyros and they gave us two chicken souvlaki. We think they drowned them in sauce so we wouldn't notice. It looked like the rotisserie chicken was about out. And they gave us the wrong ones that we didn't order...
It was my first time here. I'm a big fan of Greek cuisine and eat it quite frequently. First impressions are extremely important and unfortunately mine was very poor. As soon as I walked in I was met by a very rude and off putting women with dark hair in a ponytail and overly dark thick eyebrows. If I could give zero stars I would. Never have I experienced such a disrespectful kitchen staff. They messed up my order, which wasn't a huge deal to begin with. So I asked them to remake it, which they told me they might be able to, might not. Then the kitchen staff, specifically a balding man in the back, (did not catch his name) began to make belittling comments about how difficult I was being and expressed how inconvenienced they were by the whole ordeal. Two girls behind the counter gave me a rude look and barely even gave me service. Lo and behold they don't even give me my food! Smh don't come to this location! Save your time and go eat something else. Owner should be embarrassed at who he hires
If I could put zero stars, I would. This was my first and only experience at Nick the Greek: My Dad picked me up on my lunch hour and saying that Nick the Greek would be a good option to check out! He said the food was solid and the expectation when we walked into the (empty) restaurant was that the service would be quick. The food is great and wait times are minimal. However I have ordered and paid for extra tzatziki every time I have gone here and gotten it maybe 10% of the time. Obviously it's only like a buck each but it's a huge bummer to get home and realize they left it out of the bag. I should not have to check your work each time I pick up food. Please do better.
Ordered online to pickup. Was ready right away. Gyro was look warm. Fries were barely warm and tasted like they were sitting there a while. Not good. Why can't they keep to go food in some sort of warming area? And why do you serve old fries? I have no idea. I've been to this place many times that was the worst. probably won't be back for a while. There are better places in Castro Valley.
The food was good but we ate it cold because our order was sitting on the counter for 25 minutes before I got up to ask about it. I agree with one of the cooks that I overheard telling the two girls in the front responsible for calling out the orders that they need to pay more attention. Been seeing these franchise and yesterday was the day I had to try it! I got the lamb and beef gyro. And for extra $4 it came with fries and drink. All in all, about $19. I don't mind paying, if the food is good! However, the worst Gyro I've ever had. I mean it was bland and cold! I've had Gyro from many places, but this is the American version of fast food!
