THE STORY The idea was born in 2012 after visiting the birth place of the gyro, Greece, on the founders annual trip to their hometown village. Wondering why there were no decent gyros or souvlakia in California, we decided to form our own modern souvlaki/gyro house. The three cousins Nick, Nick and Nick, returned home to open what else? For our first time here we decided to get some of our "go to" mediterranean dishes. My wife got herself a gyro, which it said was "filled with fries, tomato and onions. But really it just had like 3 fries. Thankfully we ordered some falafel as a side order. My plate was really good. The chicken skewer was cooked perfectly. Stopped here on a whim while in Reno for errands. Absolutely delicious! Had the beef/lamb gyro and it's one of the best we've had! Meat was perfect!

Decided to choose Nick The Greek for an early lunch/late breakfast and was super happy that I did. Being originally from NYC, with lots of Greek friends, I am pretty familiar with the cuisine and love me some gyros. They definitely did not disappoint. The place is really nicely decorated, the seating is ample, inside and out and the service was with a smile and surprisingly quick considering they filled a very large order before I got there. Suris was the spot until Nick the Greek opened up! It's where Baja Fresh used to be by Panda Express and Caps. We tried it tonight, I got the lamb/beef bowl and the rice was the perfect texture, meat tender and the salad was amazing! It's a large portion too I got two meals out if the bowl. We also got a lamb/beef plate and it was also amazing only this was the fries were too crispy. Definitely will recommend this place to everyone I know.

I've was excited about this place for months before they opened. The free lunch at the grand opening was a nice touch. Then my bubble was bursted. I got the lemon & chicken soup- I didn't like it- yes it's lemon chicken but was really sour with very little chicken. Also got a chicken bowl. Salad and rice were very good but I'm not used to dark meat when having Greek food so that threw me off.
