I really wanted to like this place. I have fond memories of hitting up Nick the Greek after the clubs back when I was at SJSU--perfect drunk food since it was open super late in downtown SJ, and it always hit the spot back then. But now, something just feels off. I've had the gyro fries, and they're solid. But the gyro bowl? I've tried (and failed) to replace SAJJ with it. The bowl comes with a choice of meat or falafel, basmati rice, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, red wine vinaigrette, topped with tzatziki and... read more

Our family always have enjoys their, however if you are paying cash you can't use a hu deed dollar bill. On weekends banks are closed and one only gets 20s or hundreds plus it's extremely easy for a family to four meals with drinks and their total is close to 100 bucks.

Decided to give Nick the Greek another chance. Went here for dinner and ordered the chicken gyro combo and I got cold fries. Plus, they forgot my drink and had to be given upon request. The cooks were very loud and disruptive during dinner. The front cashiers looked very uncomfortable and angry at the cooks too.

2 Stars for the restaurant's cleanliness, friendly staff & baklava. I love Greek food so I was so happy this placed opened up down the street from my work. The restaurant is very clean. The staff were all super friendly and thanked me several times for coming in. Ordered: Beef/Lamp Gyro Pita combo with a side salad, balaclava, and a Diet Pepsi I'm not a fan of french fries so I asked for none in my gyro but the kind lady Jasmine asked if I wanted them on the side so I said "Sure Why Not." Over all the gyro was good. Ev... read more

I wanted to like this place but the ambiance is terrible. Music so loud you can't enjoy your meal. I shouldn't have to listen to ads while eating out. I should say the food is pretty good. Basically a Chipotle formula, but Greek.

Normally I love Nick the Greek - I got hooked after going to the one in Union City (which has never failed me after several visits) and was excited to see another pop up in San Leandro. It's got good selection and good food, but first try here so far I asked for fries on the side (I always do/did at the Union City location) and I got less than a handful of a few dried up little guys haphazardly throw in there. The chicken also ended up pretty bland. All in all a complete 180 difference from the Union Landing location. I al... read more

Nick the Greek I saw the advertisements and one day, I went for lunch and asked for the cashier's most popular recommendation. Aside from the yogurt sauce, the beef gyro was super bland, the fries were ok, I had better, and the drink was tart. The gyro was pack-heavy and was a lot to take home for dinner. I want to give it another chance, but I'm only returning alone if a friend brings me to them. The place is clean and has many seats to eat inside.
