Great food, great customer service, and great ambiance. Visited during their soft opening week and definitely will become regulars here. We both ordered the beef/lamb gyro plates with tomatoes, fries, side salad and pita bread The food was hot and fresh when it was delivered to our table. Great portions, I had to bring home leftovers. Next time we plan to order a gyro plate and the skewers. The employees checked in on us and made sure we were happy with our food. I ordered a Side Chicken Skewer and when I cut it, it was not fully cooked inside. This is not okay this is a hazard and can get someone very sick.

We have been coming to this location for the past 1 1/2 years mainly because of the friendly folks who work the register. The items can be considered pricey, but what isn't these days? We come for salads, their gyro bowls, and desserts, particularly for the frozen Greek yogurt with chocolate. For a minute, just about every week, I have always asked for extra chocolate and never had an issue. I accidently rated the wrong Nick the Greek last week. I meant to rate the one in San Leandro and noticed when I received a reply from the store owner. On Sunday June 22nd around 4:00p I went to get 2 chicken Gyro bowls at the San Leandro location. I was very disappointed that when I got home my food was cold and the chicken was hard like it was overcooked.. I was so disappointed yesterday, June 22 between 4-4:30pm is when I ordered my food. This was my go to spot. When I got home. My meat was dried and hard. Food was cold not even warm and the pita bread was so hard that my husband and I couldn't even tear it apart. What is going on, we said. Bad cook on Sunday and we spent $40. yo why did i order a bowl and they literally put 7 small pieces of meat, 4 sliced cucumbers(with the stem) , 2 1/2 tomatoes and a bunch load of rice and pickled onions. sauces were alright tho. 2/5 stars nick

There should be negative stars on yelp. I am violently sick after eating from Nick the Greek. Something in the salad or meat was bad. I will never eat at Nick the Greek again anywhere. I pretty much just paid with hard working money to get sick. Go ahead and get food here if you like throwing up and food poisoning.

I really wanted to like this place. I have fond memories of hitting up Nick the Greek after the clubs back when I was at SJSU--perfect drunk food since it was open super late in downtown SJ, and it always hit the spot back then. But now, something just feels off. I've had the gyro fries, and they're solid. But the gyro bowl? I've tried (and failed) to replace SAJJ with it.
