I've had many good experiences and I usually enjoy the food. This last time I ordered a gyro and "Nick fries" and they literally poured garlic on it. I'm not talking some garlic. I love garlic. This literally burned my mouth there was so much. I let a couple buddies try to get a second opinion and they could not stand it. Stick with the gyro!
Got the Greek fries, chicken smelled a little off but I played it off like it was fine. 5 hours later I'm throwing up in my bathroom.
Worst Greek I've ever had. Ordered the chicken souvlaki. There was plenty of chicken on two skewers, but it was completely flavorless. It wasn't broiled in any way, probably baked and then microwaved after being frozen? Huge amount of lettuce in the salad, but just one (!) olive and some grated cheese, definitely not feta. OK pita bread and then some dipping sauce that was supposed to be either hummus or tzatziki, I think it was mayonnaise with some unknown flavoring. I ate about 1/3 of the meal and tossed the rest
On Saturday, August 5, 2023 around noon my small family of 3 visited the restaurant for the first time. We are long-time Greek food fans, so we had decided it would be a safe choice for our casual family visit to Downtown Santa Cruz. We ordered a lamb souvlaki, a Greek salad, and a side of falafel (Just the balls and sauce). The lamb had a strong and disappointingly fatty taste and aroma. The sauce was a mayonnaise based and self invented one on pitta bread. This was accompanied with thin-cut French fries. The fries ... read more
Fast food subway gyro. This was the worst gyro I ever had, tasted like a subway sandwich. Please consider fry sauce or taziki sauce on your gyros to make them more authentic tasting and feta. Lettuce shouldn't come on gyros either. The gyro I got didn't look like the ones presented in the picture.
The service sucks here do not go after hours. They don't keep track of their orders as they gave away my food to somebody random . Looks like it is run by some callous folks that would rather close than to get their food right. Weak sauce avoid! The one star rating is a gift for real.
I'm vegan and I asked for their vegan options, they recommended Veggie Pita with hummus, I asked them twice to make sure it didn't have tzatziki sauce as it has yogurt, the veggie gyro har tzatziki, they added it and forgot the hummus, right away I felt it in my stomach, I asked and showed the lady at the register and she asked them and I saw the guy talking her in Spanish that he added the tzatziki because it came with it and she lied to me and told me he didn't add it but you can see it in the plate, I've had it before I w... read more
Red head at the front gave huge attitude, so much so we ended up taking our order to go because we felt uncomfortable dining in. Also back bathroom door gets jammed just FYI but don't ask her for help or let her know about it or you might end up feeling uncomfortable too. Definently not welcoming at all.
Meal was fine but the service was poor. The attendant who took my order was disinterested in my questions about the food and told me their bathrooms were closed early and had no suggestions on where to use a facility nearby. Female attend with red hair and nose piercings. I've worked in service and can understand it can be difficult to say no but there's no need to add a choose a approach to that conversation.
