THE STORY The idea was born in 2012 after visiting the birth place of the gyro, Greece, on the founders annual trip to their hometown village. Wondering why there were no decent gyros or souvlakia in California, we decided to form our own modern souvlaki/gyro house. The three cousins Nick, Nick and Nick, returned home to open what else? I am typically not a fan of chain restaurants, but after hearing rave reviews on this place, I finally caved. No regrets there, since everything is delicious. Service is also consistently friendly and fast. Some standout dishes include the Greek salad, lemon orzo soup, and falafel wraps. All in all, don't let the fact that it's a franchise discourage you from trying this place.
We headed to Nick the Greek for lunch on Sunday. Two out of the four people in our party had the beef and lamb gyro pita, one person tried the pork gyro pita while the other got the pork souvlaki pita plus two order of Greek fries. Two out of the three visits I have had here have been amazing. My last visit, I am going to chalk up to it just being an off day. The falafel here is delicious and the falafel pita has some very fresh veggies. The fries are so good with the oregano sprinkled in. We always ask for a side of their garlic sauce to dip our fries. The service is friendly and food comes out quickly.
Catered lunch delivered from Nick the Greek today at work was great! We got large pans of beef and lamb, chicken, pita bread, rice and greek salad. Everything was good! Tzatziki sauce was the best I've ever tasted.. some are too watery and tasteless for me. This has lots a flavor and zip to it. It pleased everyone in the department, which is difficult to do. Honest takeout review: Presentation meets flavor: 5/5 Finishing up an activity and wanted a quick bite and that's what I got! I walked in, ordered and it was fast! Matter of 5-10 minutes and I was walking out the door. Plus the food when it hit my car smelled absolutely delicious! We have been here a few times, I can't believe I haven't done a review! We prefer to stick to a primarily Mediterranean/Asian diet so Nick's is an obvious choice for a quick dinner. It's always clean and comfortable and the food is always fairly quick out. This time around, I got the gyro salad which was a definite win for me. SO MUCH MEAT on the salad! Nick and Chloe get 5 big booms BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. WOW what an afternoon delight.
Lamb and beed gyro is pretty good with their lemony soup. Get the combo with the cardamon drink! Desserts are delicious too!
