The best gyros are at Nick the Greek. Many times I crave the food here and will even make a late night run. They're open until 2 am Thursday - Saturday when nearly everything in SLO is closed. Ordering is easy online or in front of the counter where a friendly server waits to take your order. The food is delicious and served quickly. This casual restaurant is on the main artery of downtown SLO and has lots of walk-in customers off the sidewalk. Its foot traffic is constant. Had an early lunch there today with my wife. She had a Greek salad and I had the souvlaki with chicken and side salad. Both dishes were delicious. We were in Greece a couple years ago and honestly, I could say that this meal today was just as good if not better than most of the meals we had there.
