We stopped here late last Sunday night (probably around 8pm). We were tired, had been walking around town most of the day, and wanted Greek food close to our hotel. The guy at the counter who helped us was extremely patient and let us review and discuss the menu as long as we needed to. He was friendly when we were ready to order. We ate at an early dinner at Nick the Greek on Tuesday, March 26 before seeing a movie at the Imax. Souvlaki and Memories: A Review of Nick the Greek Nick the Greek is a relatively new dining option in my work neighborhood. Back when I was a student in Queens, NY, we'd often drive to Astoria, then a predominantly Greek neighborhood, for late-night feasts of delicious Greek food, coffee, and pastries. I had the gyro plate for dinner. I found the gryo sliced to thin and it need more flavor. The tzaztiki sauce did help by added a smooth yogurt flavor. Though the salad was dressed heavy, I did enjoy it. Next time I think I will try the pita pork souvlaki to see how it is.
The location of this place is near the Embarcadero BART so it's easy to grab something on the way home for dinner. Food is decent. I had ordered a plate of beef/lamb gyro and a plate of chicken souvlaki. Both were good. The chick was slightly dry but not bad. The greek salad that came with the meal had too much onions though.
Delicious Greek fare, well-priced, and clean & spacious dining area. I ordered the pork souvlaki gyro which hit the spot. Thick warm pita, tender & flavorful pork, drenched in tzatziki. The kitchen can be heavy with the tzatziki dosing unless you specify less sauce. A little heavy for lunch overall but would definitely recommend for a grab and go Weekday dinner.
