This place is delicious you get large portions so you are definitely paying for what you get. I highly recommend my favorite so far Is the beef and lamp gyro with the Greek fries. Delicious

This review is based upon 6-7 visits to this San Carlos location. All these visits are during Covid 19. We have been to other Nick the Greek locations so we are familiar with the menu and food. We really like this San Carlos location. The quality of food and service is great. If you enjoy Greek food then you need to try Nick the Greek. We look forward when Covid is over and we can enjoy it some more. I will also note during Covid the workers displayed precautions like wearing masks and wiping down tables after every use.

We keep coming back for take-out lunches because the granddaughters love Nick's. I think the food is fine but nothing special, and definitely a little overpriced. Some of the staff is more friendly than others, and they always seem to have trouble keeping up with the large crowd picking up take-out orders. (Interesting to see that the reviews tend to focus on this being a favorite restaurant of little kids--not so much for grown-ups.)

Overall, the food is okay. We ordered with door dash and didn't receive the plain fries included in the order. But just to be clear this is nowhere near authentic Greek food!! The chicken in the chicken gyro was cooked with oil, salt and pepper only and was dry and flavorless - not what is expected for a gyro! The feta green onion fries were good. The salad with added falafels was good but super soggy.

Food decent. Price decent. Take out easy. They always forget the sauce! This is why I give them a three. Our last meal was super dry - probably not going back soon.

Everytime I go here the food is just "okay". The portions are way too small for the price and the beef/lamb gyros are mainly just thick pita and french fries with a scant amount of veggies. The flavor is definitely there though and the meat itself is really tasty. I'd only come here again if I wasn't super hungry and I was willing to spend $10 on a small pita sandwich. We've gotten takeout several times from here during SIP and it's also one of the only takeout places my 3 year old will consistently eat at. As a parent -- yes please! Order: Chicken Shawarma Plate (2 skewers of chicken breast - comes with choice of starch, pitas, sauce and Greek salad. We love the turmeric rice!) Ordered Falafel and Veggie pita over Doordash. Both were okay but nothing to crave for. Pita was fresh and soft. Between the two, I liked their Falafel pita but veggie pita had this distinct off-putting taste in their fries but it could very well be because I ate veggie pita next morning.
