Great new location in the heart of Downtown San Mateo! They're currently in soft opening with their grand opening day on Friday 6/21. Both owners and staff were super friendly. The food came out quick and were tasty! My go-to are the Nick's fries and gyro salad. Also, definitely get the froyos!
This place needs to nickle and dime for sauces. (Taziki sauce) I have been to so many nick the greeks across the country and this is the only place where they need to nickle and dime. Puts a bad taste in my mouth

I just want to shed light on the side of Taziki, this is actually an item on our menu that yes we charge for as a side so when you ask the front staff members for extra sauce, they are instructed at all the Nick The Greek‘s, to charge for this. Mind you, this is not a few extra ketchup packets at McDonald’s! This is a proprietary recipe passed down three generations, and it costs us money to serve. I have been to many Nick the Greeks ground the bay area and (for the first time) when I came to this one and ordered 3 meals, i asked for extra taziki sauce. They wanted to charge me for this. I spent 40 dollars and you still want to charge me for extra yogurt sauce. Absolute dime pickers (who ever owns this franchise) Unless you LOVE to get nickeled and dimed, I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO COME HERE. This place is a joke!
I ordered a chicken gyro pita wrap from Nick The Greek via DoorDash, excited about their buy one, get one free deal. I asked for fries and sauce on the side, but the sauce was missing, and the fries were stuffed inside the wrap instead. The box of fries included with the meal were stale, and the chicken gyro was very dry. To top it off, I found a piece of chicken skin with feather tips still attached. Overall, a very disappointing meal. I won't be ordering from Nick The Greek again.
