Finally got around to trying this. It was nice and fresh, apart from the sauce it didn't really have a whole lot of taste, that I thought it would.

New location for the rapidly expanding Nick the Greek gyro chain. Lots of seating and very clean. Enjoyed a side order of gyro meat and a greek side salad. Hit the spot for a light but filling dinner. Nick the Greek is the best Greek fast casual chain around, better than Daphne's (still a good one) who came before them and where I frequently ate during my SoCal days.

Holy moly, inflation is insane: I came in to grab a bite on the cheap, so ordered the beef gyro wrap by itself without any sides or a drink. With tip, it came out to $16.44 which felt like a lot compared to other grab and go Greek spots. The meat was hot and fresh, and the cashier was nice. I chose to dine-in, but the nice cashier said that she forgot what I said so wrapped it in a plastic bag to go. Was going to buy a drink but the beverage fountain had a paper taped to it with "out of order." Food came out relatively qui... read more

Nice to have another option for Mediterranean food in downtown San Mateo. Tasty chicken and pita used in their gyros and souvlaki. Quick and friendly service.

What a nice addition to the fast, casual downtown San Mateo Medi food scene and a change of pace from the explosion of boba tea shops. Nick's is at the former Halal Guys location. By far, in my opinion, one of the best, delicious and 'fast' Greek food around. While this is my first visit to this location, food consistency is great with the other Nick locations. They have a great selection of platters, bowls, gyros, soups, salads and assorted sides. Bright, spacious and clean, its a great place to hang out for a quick bit... read more

Was happy to have a new food option in my neighborhood so recently went for lunch. I was immediately greeted by an extremely friendly cashier who also brought the food to my table. Nick's has a decent amount of tables, is spotless and the meal was presented quite nicely. I selected the souvlaki plate (1 chicken and 1 pork skewer) with fries instead of rice. The chicken was nicely grilled, juicy and flavorful. The pork was also pretty solid, though not as good as the chicken. Perhaps a tad dry, but still good. Unfortunately... read more

I had a souvlaki plate. Choice of pork or chicken skewers. A few pieces of the pork was dry and tough. A crispy side salad topped with feta cheese, there is a generous amount of fries sleeping with sliced fresh tomatoes and red onions, two pitas cut up and grilled. Tsaziki sauce. Despite the few pieces of pork, it was satisfying, especially for the price. Really 3.5 stars, but I'll be generous and say: 4. Stars. Casual dining. Decor: fast food style
