After a year of eating at various Nick's around the Bay Area, I've decided to upgrade from 3 to 5 stars for the chain overall, and specifically for the Novato location at Vintage Oaks. First the food is really as good as any greek cafe I've been to, and I adore the lamb/beef gyro which i suggest you order with the fries on the side - my preference anyway. The food was great! For a quick on the go spot, this is a great place! Love their gyros and their Greek fries, which we've had twice now and no complaints. Not the best for a sit down meal, it's more just for a quick bite. Inside it's pretty busy, small, and the tables face the aisle which has a lot of traffic going in and out. I will definitely come back if in the area!

I can't believe I haven't written a review of Nick The Greek yet. My family and I are regular customers since they opened. I usually get the bowl with one of their meat options or the falafel. Occasionally I'll order the beef/lamb gyro which is filled with meat. They put fries inside but I prefer to leave them out and just get a side of fries. Can't believe I would taste some of the most flavorful chicken and rice at a fast food chain restaurant! We got a kids plate, souvlaki plate and a scoop of hummus to go with them all. The rice was golden hued and seemed to be cooked in some flavorful broth, it was fluffy and separate. In other words perfection redefined. And the chicken? Food is genius and owner/staff are beyond nice. When there was a minor delay over mis-communication (I was masked), they insisted on buying my meal. Wouldn't let me pay. Wonderful people. Great food. Great experience. Thank you.
