I accidently rated the wrong Nick the Greek last week. I meant to rate the one in San Leandro and noticed when I received a reply from the store owner. On Sunday June 22nd around 4:00p I went to get 2 chicken Gyro bowls at the San Leandro location. I was very disappointed that when I got home my food was cold and the chicken was hard like it was overcooked.. The pita bread was so hard I couldn't even tear it apart as if it was staled and they tried to warm it up many times. This has not happened before. WTH! Also, they pou... read more
I was so disappointed yesterday, June 22 between 4-4:30pm is when I ordered my food. This was my go to spot. When I got home. My meat was dried and hard. Food was cold not even warm and the pita bread was so hard that my husband and I couldn't even tear it apart. What is going on, we said. Bad cook on Sunday and we spent $40. So whoever is cooking on Sunday I want to know what other days he is there so I don't go. We threw our dinners away and we never did before. During the week our food is HOT and FRESH but this time I fe... read more
Service is far too slow and prices are high. Place not very clean. General environment is loud and I don't care for that.
yo why did i order a bowl and they literally put 7 small pieces of meat, 4 sliced cucumbers(with the stem) , 2 1/2 tomatoes and a bunch load of rice and pickled onions. sauces were alright tho. 2/5 stars nick
There should be negative stars on yelp. I am violently sick after eating from Nick the Greek. Something in the salad or meat was bad. I will never eat at Nick the Greek again anywhere. I pretty much just paid with hard working money to get sick. Go ahead and get food here if you like throwing up and food poisoning.
I really wanted to like this place. I have fond memories of hitting up Nick the Greek after the clubs back when I was at SJSU--perfect drunk food since it was open super late in downtown SJ, and it always hit the spot back then. But now, something just feels off. I've had the gyro fries, and they're solid. But the gyro bowl? I've tried (and failed) to replace SAJJ with it. The bowl comes with a choice of meat or falafel, basmati rice, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, red wine vinaigrette, topped with tzatziki and... read more
Our family always have enjoys their, however if you are paying cash you can't use a hu deed dollar bill. On weekends banks are closed and one only gets 20s or hundreds plus it's extremely easy for a family to four meals with drinks and their total is close to 100 bucks.
Decided to give Nick the Greek another chance. Went here for dinner and ordered the chicken gyro combo and I got cold fries. Plus, they forgot my drink and had to be given upon request. The cooks were very loud and disruptive during dinner. The front cashiers looked very uncomfortable and angry at the cooks too.
2 Stars for the restaurant's cleanliness, friendly staff & baklava. I love Greek food so I was so happy this placed opened up down the street from my work. The restaurant is very clean. The staff were all super friendly and thanked me several times for coming in. Ordered: Beef/Lamp Gyro Pita combo with a side salad, balaclava, and a Diet Pepsi I'm not a fan of french fries so I asked for none in my gyro but the kind lady Jasmine asked if I wanted them on the side so I said "Sure Why Not." Over all the gyro was good. Ev... read more
