I've recently noticed a couple of Nick the Greek locations opening up in the Bay Area, specifically Daly City and SSF. I saw that one had opened up in SSF, and after having delightful experiences at their other recently opened Daly City location I decided to give this one a try. Got the greek salad. One of the best I've had. No lettuce, cucumbers as the base. Tomatoes were de-fleshed. Olives had a briny punch. Dressing was not overpowering and tasted fresh. Flavors were well balanced. Grilled chicken tasted great.
Great sandwiches and fries for the perfect price. We went at rush hour, the place was extremely crowded. But the service was still top notch and the food absolutely perfect!
Always great, fast food version of Greek. High quality too, so no complaints! Service was quick and friendly.
Three stars because my order was fast and the sandwich was good. I wish it had more tomatoes and some lettuce. But -2 stars because the sandwich was skimpy, and it seems like their schtick is to stuff the sandwich with some fries to get away with putting less meat in there. When asked if I wanted to "make it a meal" it didn't seem necessary to get a whole basket of additional fries. Maybe they hook up the meat if you do that. But for the price, this was disappointing. Got their gyro plate with a side of fries - my husband did the same but upgraded his fries to greek fries which came with feta and other toppings. Came on a Friday around noon - clearly peak lunch time because there was a line and a bunch of folks eating outside, likely from the surrounding business buildings. For a fast-casual type Greek place, Nick delivers. Line went fairly fast and food came out fresh and hot. Husband got the lamb/beef gyro (fries/drink combo) and I got the pork souvlaki bowl. So glad they opened up an SSF location! Huge portions at reasonable prices. I got the gyros plate, which came with a big portion of meat (easily two meals worth of meat), a french fries, pita, tomatoes and salad. This was definitely two meals for me and it was really tasty. As is typical for delivery, the fries were a little soft when they arrived but some time in the oven crisped them up nicely.
