We got into Ventura Ranch RV park, and once we were set up we called Nick. The Greek. We both craving Gyros they did not disappoint! My husband had the lamb and beef, and I had the pork belly. It came with a Greek salad, which was delicious. We asked for our fries on the side and I had read in one of the reviews that they were like In-N-Out fries and that is absolutely true. They were delicious.
I ordered off the catering menu which worked out perfectly for our party of 10. I live in Carpinteria and it was awesome that they delivered it to us all the way out here. He got here exactly at the time requested. The food was hot, perfectly packaged and labeled clearly. The chicken and beef/lamb gyro meat were all so delicious. Everyone wanted to take some home. We had plenty! The Greek salad was perfect--huge chunks of tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, onions and olives and a nice Greek dressing. Also got yummy falafels, p... read more
Had always wanted to try this place but hadn't found the a good opportunity to do so with my schedule. Fortuitous circumstances led me in the area hungry after a long bike ride, and I was so glad I picked this place to recoup. The gyro was great, and the froyo was well worth the wait. Serious contender next to Stephen's, will be going again and finding the time to do so.
Ohmigosh we stopped here for the 1st time yesterday and loved the food! Restaurant is spotless and really friendly service. We tried the falafel, chicken wrap and lamb wrap. They are getting their liquor license so they can compete with all the other eateries along Main so go now while you can still get a seat!
Nick the Greek is my go-to when I forget my lunch on work days. The food is good, and service is fast and friendly. Sadly, I am only giving three stars in this review because recently the amount of feta on my food has been very disappointing. It can't even be called crumbles of feta - it is more like the dust at the bottom of the feta crumble package when you've gotten all of the crumbles out, and it isn't very much. Today, I ordered extra feta (for a small fee) on my bowl because of how disappointing the amount has been, an... read more
My wife is born and raised in Greece and she said it's the Most authentically Greek place in Ventura county. Food and service was amazing!
I get my hair done downtown regularly. I nearly always stop at Nick's for lunch. I ordered the beef-lamb gyro and it was delicious! Sliced gyro meat can be dry, but Nick's is tender and juicy, the best I've had outside of Greece (there's this stand in Santorini...lol). The feta fries are great too, and their special frozen yogurt with honey and filo- YUM. Give Nick's a try.
The food was pretty mid in the sense where it was fatty. I also really do not appreciate it when the cashier comes off rude and confused. We also had made changes to the order and paid extra for more meat and they were all ignored. The one good thing I would say is that the place is clean and nice with cool music.
I love Mediterranean food, but that place it is more like fast food then an authentic one. There are not that many good Greek restaurants in Ventura county, but ther eare better ones then this for sure. I was quite disappointed. Service is good thought and atmosphere is interesting, but food is just not tasty.
