We stopped for lunch here after hearing this restaurant had opened. Super easy takeout place with no wait and friendly service. My husband and I both ordered the beef lamb gyro combo (which comes with fries and a drink). They have some benches outside the front of the store so we opted to eat there. Food was good but cold. Placed an order for pick up but wasn't ready at time for pickup. They called out everyone's name but mine and my order sat ready for 10 minutes before I asked again.

Got the chicken rice bowls. Rice taste amazing but bit of a small portion. Few pieces of chicken and abundance of sauce with the rice. Not the worst when you incredibly hungry but the bowls should not be worth $12+.

Have ordered food at my workplace and everyone really liked it. They have good option for vegetarians as well.

Nick the Greek is your one stop shop for fantastic Greek food! We are happy Nick the Greek made it's way to Davis! What a treat! Nick the Greek has delicious gyros, avgolemono soup, and plates. Their desserts are delicious they have loukoumades and baklava! We can't wait to try their Greek frozen yogurt next! The staff is attentive and friendly too. If you are a local resident, a student, or in town for the day... and you are in need of a filling delicious meal try Nick the Greek!

it was our first time here and the gyros were the best we've had outside of Greece! we ordered both the pork belly gyro as well as the lamb& beef combo gyro along with french fries. everything was very delicious with generous portions of meat inside the gyros. thank you also for the great staff, very friendly and helpful. i don't remember her name, but she was very tall, pretty with curly hair tied back in a ponytail. thank you for your best-in-class service and your patience in answering our questions and making your o... read more

I've tried Nick the Greek twice now and I had mixed experiences. Great location in the heart of downtown, and parking is easy if you look a couple blocks up the street. Chicken souvlaku plate: C- Chicken had good flavor but was quite dry and tough. Didn't care for the salad, felt like I was just eating raw onion and tomato as the dressing barely had any flavor. Yes !!!! Davis needs mor ee places like Nick the Greek. I hate this trying to make small town small business place attitude - rents too high here for mom and pops businesses. They close. I've looked into it myself and it takes a lot of money to open a restaurant down town. And with such small profit margins. this is an excellent example of the kinds of fast causal we should be welcoming to our city. HAVE AGAIN: The Gyro Bowl with pork belly and extra tzatziki was pretty good, but I rather have the beef/lamb. BIG disappointment was getting home and discovering they did not put the sauce on the side for my second entree. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The Avgolemono (lemon) soup was not very lemony and pretty unremarkable.
