Once Great, Now Disgraceful - Nick the Greek Has Fallen Off a Cliff I've been a loyal fan of Nick the Greek ever since the San Jose location opened nearly a decade ago. My wife and I were among the first customers--we still have the original T-shirts they gave out. Back then, the food was incredible. Oh man, I would not recommend anyone to come here... The food is awful, souvlaki is supposed to be thin shredded meat. It was thick chunks of meat. The hummus was flavorless and old and thick. The fries were super soggy. The only thing that I said was OK was the Greek salad and the pita bread other than that I would not spend your money here . Absolute trash I was very disappointed because I love Mediterranean/Greek food. Will not come here again The girl at the register was very nice though

I have eaten at many Nick the Greeks over the years, and I absolutely love the food. It is dependable and my go-to when I eat out. However, I was VERY rudely spoken to when I picked up my takeout order. I walked in, and the worker did not notice me enter. His back was turned towards me, and hadn't even noticed me. I saw a closed plastic bag on the counter, with a receipt next to it with my name. I reached over the counter to reveal more of the receipt, which did have my name. It took them over 30 minutes to get my food which was not hot and soggy when I received it. I was order 17 and found it off as they called out in order all the way to 22 before calling mine. Food was inedible and just trashed it. 30 minutes and 19 bucks I'll never get back. I definitely will not return

ordered a pita online. Got there 10 minutes before they stated it would be ready and food was sitting on the counter when I walked in. Five minute drive home, and the pita was cold inside...the meat was ice cold and the French fries inside tasted like they had been fried up hours before. disappointed.

The food itself was just ok, I have had worse but this was nothing to brag about. They had two different types of music (both of which were terrible) and the blend of the two was enough to drive you nuts. This place would have received three stars but they are automatically docked a star for asking for a tip (starting at 18%) when I have to order at the counter and bus my own table.

Would give no stars but can't do so owner is super rude and smokes cigarettes and comes back in without washing his hands does not know basic keep clean protocols, noticed they don't wash food trays if you want clean food order to go all the way around super bad food and business, seen owner yell at his employees as well

I ordered the chicken souvlaki and the chicken was so burnt, they drowned it in sauce to hide the black on the chicken.man's burnt flavor ..my boyfriend had the lamb and pork he said it was good but the chicken on mine was wayy too burnt. I couldn't get the burnt taste out my mouth after that...

I don't know what it is about Santa Maria but the food here is terrible. Moving here from LA I get that everyones standards are very low when it comes to accuracy in judging wether food is truly good or not, but let me tell you this was so gross. The fries are stale, the gyros are thrown together with no care, the spicy sauce has no flavor or spice. The chicken has an odd aftertaste. Its all just bad.
