Greek place with Mexican hot sauce and EDM music playing in the background. Food was fresh and good, but nothing to write home about. Chicken Gyro bowl $13.25 : good flavor, a few pieces were burned, A Beef Gyro w/fries + drink $17.00 : good flavor, A Pork Souvlaki $12.50 : Average, over ripe tomatoes, B The cashier looked like she hated her job and was waiting to leave. $50 for a lunchtime meal for 2 kids + 1 adult.
So glad I stopped in! Asked the friend Ly guy behind the counter what he recommended and got the lamb gyro with salad. It was outstanding-- incredibly fresh and tasty and maybe it sounds weird to say, but the presentation was even great. It looked like it was in a TV commercial. Love when people take pride in their work. Super clean restaurant too. If you're having lunch in downtown Ventura, no need to go anywhere else!
Had a great lunch of giros and falafels very relaxed atmosphere, hang outside and enjoy!!
Picked up lunch takeout today and all the food was great! Chicken gyros really delicious as well as the house made hummus. Really appreciate that they use sturdy paperboard takeout containers rather than styrofoam!! Well done! Friendly staff and quick service too.
The menu is limited but the food is great. Your order is put together pretty quick most of the time. The price is a bit on the high side, but it's always worth it.
Loved this place!!! The regular fries were outstanding. They were fresh and oregano forward (which I love but my daughter, not so much). The souvlaki was so good and the service is really friendly. The pita was fluffy and tasty as well. The location on Main St. is perfect for people watching and I'll definitely return next time I'm in town!
Stopped in for a treat. I loved the frozen Greek yogurt! It was deliciously sour, I haven't had anything like it before. The baklava on top was a great touch. Service was fast and it's a nice little shop.
My husband and I go to downtown Ventura often. We always walked by Nick the Greek and we were always intrigued. We finally were able to try it and it wasn't bad. We went on a Thursday afternoon. Wasn't busy. They have inside and outside seating. A decent amount. Nothing crazy. The service was really nice. We asked for the girls opinion who was taking the order and she was very helpful. We ended up getting a chicken gyro pita and a kids plate with chicken. The chicken was really good. Fries were nicely seasoned. I... read more
The place was pretty empty for a Saturday lunch. The seating are was clean and the cashier was polite. I ordered the gyro plate which was $18. The salad came out first had already soaked through the container with dressing. It didn't taste bad though. The fries were fresh cuts and reminded me of In-n-Out. The was good. The food was good not great, but no complaints.
